Audience

Punk Life? was created to document punk subculture accurately. Therefore, my primary audience is the punk community. However, my project is not limited to this audience. Activists who work towards social equality may be interested in this piece to see how the punk community functions to achieve similar goals, such as anti-racism work. Scholars who are interested in the idea of media and representation, may be intrigued by the appropriation of the word “punk” in today’s media. Other scholars who are interested in popular culture and individuals who lived through the creation of punk subculture also may have an interest in the installation. Along with these people, musicians who feel closely linked with other subcultures based primarily on music, such as hip-hop, may be interested in the way today’s punk subculture finds itself divided into two categories: underground and mainstream.
